Alistair has a wide range of experience. He has over 32 years of experience in teaching, having gained an honours degree in history and sociology, a considerable achievement considering that

he left school at 15 with no formal qualifications.

He has also worked in key industries within West Dunbartonshire, working as an apprentice in the Denny’s shipyard and later at the Dennystown Forge.

He helped set up Dumbarton’s Citizens Advice Bureau and had worked as a volunteer for the CAB for 25 years as well as serving on the Children’s Panel.

He has worked with numerous charities and has a great deal of experience sitting on many varied boards.

He was one of the initial founders of DHA in 1992, and we continue to benefit from his knowledge and experience on our Board.
