Prepayment Meter Customers - additional support

Do you have a prepayment meter but struggle to put money in it?

Additional help might be available to you.

On top of the £400 from the government, awarded to every single household in Scotland, and automatically added to your electricity meter,

you can apply for additional Fuel Bank Vouchers.

These vouchers are usually in the amount of £49 (but can vary depending on season and/or council area) and can be claimed up to 3 times in a period of 6 month.

It is worth noting, that vouchers have been restricted this year due to the available government support, but please do not hesitate to get in touch regardless.

  Alternatively, try West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare. They have a limited amount of fuel vouchers available, along with providing emergency food aid parcels. 

  They accept self referrals or agency referrals.

Or if you need support to complete the form, either call 01700 502784 and ask about the Argyll and Bute Flexible Food Fund, or give your Housing Officer a call.

Please note:

If you find that you don't struggle so much with your electricity, but find it hard to put money in your gas, give your energy provider a call and ask them to transfer some of the credit on your electricity meter over to your gas. It is entirely at the suppliers disgretion, but more often then not, they are happy to help.
