Andy has over 32 years of experience working within the social rented housing sector and was previously a senior housing manager within a local authority setting.
He has a postgraduate diploma in housing (University of Glasgow 2004).
Andy’s interests lie in housing provision and the supply and demand chain, how Dunbritton Housing Association and other social rented housing providers make the best use of available housing to meet increasing demand and how Dunbritton develop new housing and helps grow new communities has significant impact on everyday life.
Andy feels that there are daily pressures around affordability, the economy, our health, and welfare are very real. He stated “Having a home in an area of your choice that is affordable and well maintained, which you can enjoy and where you feel safe is a fundamental part of your life. Getting easy access to high-quality services and support to help you secure housing, or to help stay in your current home in the long term is crucial. It is important to remember that housing is not just bricks and mortar, it is from here your life evolves”.
