Gary Mulvaney FCCA

Gary is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant being a long-standing Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, having graduated with a BA Accounting degree with distinction. He has worked in local government, the import/export sector, but most of his working life has been in retail automotive. In 2024 he retired as Managing Director of Helensburgh Toyota and oversaw the transfer of the company into employee ownership. He is very proud that in his tenure the company routinely secured a Top 5 position across the UK for customer service and won two European Ichiban awards for customer care. Gary is an elected member of Argyll & Bute council, having been first elected in 2003. He has served as Depute Leader and Finance Lead (2017-2024) and is currently Vice-Chair of the Audit & Scrutiny committee. Previously Gary has acted as a Business Advisor for Young Enterprise in local schools and chaired Helensburgh’s Winter Festival. He has been a board member of Dunbritton Housing Association since 2003. He is married to Janet and has one daughter.
